I chartered a helicopter to take me to the remote yet beautiful Lake Kurilskoye, home of 2 million spawning red salmon and approximately 200 wild brown bears that turn up on the lakes edge to hunt them.

This particular image was taken early in the morning as the bears lined up to catch their breakfast. The light is so moody it makes for great portraits of the bears just being bears. They were so unaffected by us being there we really got a sense of the incredible way of life that they were sharing with us.
