Description
This was shot on Indigenous land in the heart of Australia, 260km west of Alice Springs in a place called ‘Ikuntji’ or ‘Haasts Bluff.’ I was introduced to the land and the traditional owners of it by my uncle, Ken Duncan. I don’t think it’s coincidence it was here that I feel in love with photography and made the decision to follow my dream of becoming a photographer. Understanding the land and the environment is a huge part of photography and I feel beyond lucky to have that connection.
One of the perks of my job is travelling into areas that I may never have thought to go in order to get a shot that is different to the norm. The country and the people out here are simply breath taking. The Australian outback in all its glory is something to behold. It holds so much spirit it is hard not to feel connected to the land when you’re out there.
