Description
The East Coast low that hit Australia in early 2015 created some of the most powerful ocean swells I have ever seen. This shot was taken just three days after the storm departed. Terrigal lagoon was overflowing. I stood out in the middle of the lagoon entrance as water rushed in from the ocean and out from the lagoon. This had also created quicksand in which I kept sinking lower and lower. When I hit the shutter on this shot I was up to my stomach in water and sinking quickly – I managed to get out safely and get this shot!
