Capturing the feeling and or emotion of a place can sometimes be a challenge. I had the chance to try and create an iconic local shot of the Avoca/North Avoca break that so many locals and tourists have surfed over the years.
I waited until a perfect clean swell rolled into North Avoca and got this little gem which is my highest selling print. This guy actually took off right in front of the North Avoca surf club but because I used a long lens it compressed the scene and created an optical illusion making him appear to be much closer to the Avoca end of the beach.
