Artist In Residence Program

BridgeClimb is launching its first Artist in Residence initiative, with a month dedicated to photography of the historic Sydney Harbour Bridge and amazing Sydney harbour. I am honoured to partner with BridgeClimb for the very first residency program, which will feature an exclusive complimentary VIP photography opportunity for select professionals, plus world first Photographer Tour and Masterclasses.

Are you a passionate photographer looking for an unbeatable shoot location?

In partnership with BridgeClimb Sydney I will be conducting a world first Photographers Tour and Masterclass – an exclusive experience that allows you to up-skill your photography knowledge, then put it to the test in a photo shoot from a vantage point like no other.

This one of a kind experience will take you and your camera to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the South-East Pylon Observation and Gun Deck – locations public cameras are not usually allowed – for uninterrupted views of a magical Sydney sunset.

The Photographer Tour + Masterclass is available in both a full and half day package that run every Thursday and Friday from 19 November – 11 December 2020. With limited spots available you won’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to capture the most iconic shots of Sydney.

FULL DAY PACKAGE
The full day package features classroom time, lunch at The Glenmore Hotel, and access to the South-East Pylon private gun deck space to shoot beautiful Sydney Harbour, then topping off the day with an amazing Twilight Climb, where you will have the exclusive opportunity to take your own camera onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge to take a limited number of landscape photos from 134 metres above the sparkling harbour.

  • 10am – Arrival at BridgeClimb Visitor Centre – morning briefing and workshop
  • 11:30am – Lunch at The Glenmore Hotel (includes meal from Two Hands menu and soft drink)
  • 1pm – South-East Pylon photo shoot
  • 2:30pm – Afternoon workshop at the Pylon (includes snack/drink)
  • 5pm – BridgeClimb Base – check-in for Twilight Climb – end your day with an amazing Twilight BridgeClimb including the opportunity to take a limited number of landscape photos from one special location on the Bridge
  • 8pm  – Post-climb photo screening and sign-off

What’s included

  • Theory and practical photography lessons directly from me in a small lesson group (maximum 20 photographers) with time in groups of just 10 when shooting – giving you a chance for 1:1 instruction with me.
  • Exclusive access to both the public Lookout level and the very top of the Pylon (not normally open for access to the public) – on the half day course, this access will be during sunset for breathtaking views and lighting.
  • Snacks and refreshments throughout the courses
    In addition, for the full day course –

    • An incredible Twilight BridgeClimb experience including the ability to take limited photos + featuring a photo of yourself with camera on the Bridge.
    • Lunch at the iconic Glenmore pub

In the field techniques:

– Composition
– The use of light
– The golden hour
– Research your locations

HALF DAY PACKAGE

The half day package features classroom time and access to the South-East Pylon private gun deck space to shoot beautiful Sydney Harbour, the city skyline and the legendary Sydney Harbour Bridge, from an exclusive location not accessible to the public.

  • 3:30pm – 5:30pm – Afternoon workshop at the South-East Pylon (includes snack/drink)
  • 5:30pm – 7:30pm – Twilight photo shoot at the Pylon Observation and Gun Decks

  2. To participate in a Climb, you must meet BridgeClimb Sydney’s standard health and safety conditions, available at https://www.bridgeclimb.com/plan-your-visit/pre-climb-checklist.
  3. Participants will need to take into account any medical conditions they may have that may impact on their ability to climb vertical ladders and steep slopes safely. Climbers must be at least 8 years of age and physically fit. An 8 to 15 year-old Climber must be accompanied by an adult Climber.
  4. In the instance of unsuitable weather, as decided by BridgeClimb Sydney in its absolute discretion, the climb may be postponed or rescheduled.
  5. For those on the Twilight BridgeClimb there are limitations to shoot time, shoot angles and equipment allowed to meet safety and security requirements.  Following the Climb you will be given limited time to review your photos and edit down to your top 20 for review by security before the photos are approved to leave BridgeClimb.
